What I Made

A cape for my 20 month old daughter to wear over her fairy costume its reversible and very cute

How I Made it

I followed the instructions that were provided but as I have never sewn anything before in my life other than a rod pocket curtain I didn't really understand all the instructions when it came to gathering the lower part of the cape to attach the hood to so instead I used the same idea as a rod pocket curtain and left a pocket and hand stitched the hood to it and threaded a homemade cord(made of same fabric) through the pocket then because my hand sewing leaves much to be desired I then hand stitched some wide lace over the dodgy stitching. To make it a little more special, I stitched faux fur around the hood.

Tips and Tricks

  • do what works for you I used stretch fabric that stretched in both directions and found it quite easy love this pattern

Thanks for sharing, Ruth! This is the first mini-cape I have seen from our readers. Just adorable -and the material you used looks so soft.
