The small glue sticks slide into the back of the glue gun one at a time. After plugging it in, glue guns can heat up and be ready to use in 2-5 minutes. You can load a new stick before the first is completely melted. The stick is pushed toward the hot tip as pressure is applied to the trigger and the glue exudes out of the metal tip. The amount of pressure put on the trigger determines the flow of the glue.
