On Friday evening, one of my most-anticipated Fashion Week shows kicked off with drinks at the balcony bar and a steady flow of up-and-coming fashion stars. The Academy of Art University fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is always full of fresh ideas and faces. Here are the highlights:
Highlight: Yuming Weng debuted knit dresses with swirled in silky midtones that somehow made me crave a smoothie.
Highlight: The collection from Teresa Field and James Thai featured ferocious and mystical creatures alike on fitted leather jackets and thin legged pants.
Highlight: As 'Most Likely to Influence 2013 Fall Fashion', I have to name Amanda Nervig and Janine Villa. Their chunky knits are what I can really see translating into what we will be wearing this fall.
