A Big Box of Clothes and Business

Wholesale Clothing

In my area, I have seen a lot of clothing outlet stores go up and go under. When I can't find cheap clothes at the local thrift store, the outlet shops usually have what I want at a slightly higher price.

So what if I could walk in with $200.00 and walk out with enough clothes to last me for a year? Buying wholesale clothing for personal use is becoming an internet trend. Saving up a couple hundred bucks with a few friends can add up fast, and that is exactly what some dorm rooms and college buddies are doing. $600.00 can bring a box of 100 pieces of designer clothing to your door that average at $5.95 each. This is compared to retail prices that put them as high as $55.00. After the box arrives, the 'dividing party' commences and everyone walks away with at least 30 pieces of something fabulous.

What I like about this trend is that paying $200.00 for 33 or so pieces of designer clothing really isn't a bad deal. If you aren't into designer labels, however, this isn't for you. I would also suggest finding a website that lets you know what size you will be getting. It would be terrible to pay for a box of clothes that don't fit you, but fit your friends. Also, remember that this is a business transaction with your buddies, so if you don't like mixing friends and money, then steer clear.

For those who have bought wholesale designer clothes online and have been burned, I would suggest hopping over to eBay. Anything that doesn't fit or just looks too funky can be sold at a retail price online. This is a great way to make a little cash and accept those pieces that don't fit without getting into a fight with your friends/fellow fashion investors. Remember that these clothes usually sell for a lot more in stores, so you would only have to sell a few pieces on eBay to break even.

What do you think of this trend?
