What I Made
Mini top hat, I like to call it my death hat to 2010.
How I Made it
I did the pattern out of card stock then use heavy felt for my base. I cover it with velvet using a hot glue gun. The glue did show so I covered it with ribbon and netting.
Material I used:
I used 1 piece of heavy felt, 1 yard of velvet, 1 yard of beads, 2 yards of ribbon, 2 yards of netting, 2 ostrich feathers and a comb. Total cost was $13.20 at a local fabric store. It took me 30 minutes to make the pattern and about 2 hours to make the hat. I use my scrap booking wave cutter to do the angle.
Tips and Tricks
- Making a model out of card stock first help me make sure the pattern would work before I cut any fabric.
