What I Made

I made this black cape with red lining as part of my costume at a Masquerade Ball. (Hooded Cape Tutorial)

How I Made it

I used black broadcloth and a red sheer material I'd had sitting around. It took me 4 yards of fabric (2 yds black and 2 yds red) and about one hour. It was a big hit at the party and kept me warm all night!

Tips and Tricks

  • I ran out of black thread during the hemming, so I used red and it looked great! Gave it a cool touch.

Okay, what else does anyone need at a party aside from a masquerade mistress, the spirit of Mardi Gras, and none other than the elusive Jackalope. There was never a more random bunch of characters. Looks like you were in for a crazy night of fun! Thanks for sharing your costumes with us!
