How to Replace a Drawstring

Feed the drawstring in the pants.

Work your safety pin into your drawstring hole, scrunching up the fabric around your safety pin as you go.

At the other end, pull the safety pin back out. Be sure to tie knots on either side of the new drawstring.

This is a good time to inspect your drawstring holes. If the thread around the holes are coming unraveled, then the fabric may tear to make drawstring holes that are too big. If you need to replace the stitching around the drawstring holes, use a buttonhole stitch and coordinating thread.
