Scissors

Definition: Scissors can come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Dull scissors are good for child's projects, and small scissors are handy for jewelry making. Scissors with one flat-edged handle are excellent for cutting large lengths of fabric.

Scissors are handy for cutting fabric in DIY projects, but are a multipurpose tool that can be used on plastics, too. This item is one of a few basic DIY fashion tools that you should have on hand. Be sure not to use your kitchen scissors as your craft scissors. This can transfer greasy stains or bacteria onto your projects. If your scissors become dull, have them sharpened at your local hardware store.

Cheap scissors can be found at any grocery or department store, but do not stay sharp for long. High quality scissors can be found at your local craft store, but they can be pricey. For the best cut every time, buy a pair of scissors that meets your needs and keep them exclusive to your DIY projects, not household jobs.

If you have any questions on how to use or where to find grommet punches, visit your DIY Fashion Message Board. We love to answer questions and help with any issues.
