Sew Ribbon to the Front

Corset Top Instructions

Add ribbon to the front.

Rain Blanken
Find the middle of your length of ribbon by folding it in half. Lay the middle point of the ribbon on the center of the bottom of the front panel.

Smooth the ribbon out to the right and left until the ribbon touches the side panels. Fold the ribbon over itself so that it points diagonally upward toward the other side panel. Using a needle and thread, stitch an 'X' where the ribbon is folded over itself, like in the illustration above.

Continue to crisscross the ribbon up the front panel in this way. The idea is to make it look as though it's laced up the front. You can create a few large crisscross points, or a bunch of small ones. It's up to you. Just make sure you have enough ribbon to reach the top! When you reach the top, tie the leftover ribbon into a bow.

Next, we will punch the grommet holes.
