Upcycled Skirt from Jeans and a Shirt

From here, there are a few ways to proceed. For a raw edge on the pants part of your skirt, pin the top edge of the tank right-side out to the inside of the pants, a 1/2" from the edge. Stitch through the pants to attach the tank top skirt. The stretchy tank top material is very forgiving. Take care not to stitch through the pockets.

For a seam with no rough edges on the outside, turn the pants part inside out, then pin the top edge of the tank, right-side out, to the inside edge of the jeans. I am not a fan of this method, because it can be tricky to line up the tank top with the pants edge, and can lead to some bunching.
