Just snip the bottom and thread through.

For some reason, I hate sewing drawstring casings. It's always the last step and seems to take a while. Luckily, you don't have to make a drawstring casing with this skirt. What used to be the bottom hem of your shirt is now the drawstring casing of your skirt.

Decide where you want your drawstring to come out, at the side or middle of the front of the skirt. Snip a small opening in the bottom hem of your shirt, which is now at the top of your skirt. Don't snip through the stitches that separate the hem from the skirt.

Attach a safety pin to your ribbon or shoestring. Push the head of the safety pin through the casing, bunching as you go all the way around until it comes out the other side.

There you have it, a finished skirt.
