- Tie another 1/2" worth of square knots after the pendant. If you added square knots to make the necklace longer before you added the pendant, make sure that you add that many square knots to this side. Add a small bead.
- Tie 1 1/2" worth of square knots. Add a small bead.
- Tie 1 1/2" worth of square knots. Add a small bead.
- Tie 2" worth of square knots.
You should have about 14" of necklace completed. Try wrapping it around your neck in the mirror to make sure it is a good fit. Slip your lark's head knot loop from the keyring. Tie all four strands of the loose end into a large knot that will loop through your lark's head knot on the other side. Make sure this new knot is large enough to stay put in the loop while you're wearing it.
Cut the excess hemp strands to about 1" long or shorter, if you prefer.
Now you have a hemp necklace that you can proudly say you've made yourself. This one is great practice, but try your new knot know-how and freestyle some bracelets and necklaces of your own design.
