Mounting the dummy gives you the advantage of having a form that is the height of your model. This way, you can make floor-length and knee-length dresses to the correct height.
- What You'll Need
- A plastic or wooden clothes hanger
- duct tape
- flat cardboard
- Scissors [recommended scissors]
- A large cardboard tube or PVC piping. You can get a large cardboard tube for free from a local printing company, or use a long shipping tube. PVC pipes can be bought for a few bucks at your local department store, and are harder to cut than the cardboard.
- An old coat rack, Christmas tree stand, or office chair. Anything that will hold up your cardboard tube.
- Marker or pen
- Measuring tape
