Iron and Ironing Board

iron and ironing board

It may sound like Suzie Homemaker, but ironing really does finish the look!

Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to wear an apron while you iron. Some may say it is outdated, but the iron has come a long way from its debut in ancient China and various appearances on Leave it to Beaver.

An iron and ironing board are essential for fusing adhesives such as iron-on patches and seam fusing. Using an iron to press hems will help to set the hem line and make your creations look professional. Ironing a wrinkled garment from the thrift store can also make it more manageable and therefore easier to measure and work with.

Steam irons today have a sleek look and safety features that turn them off if they are tipped over for too long. Irons come in all kinds of colors and style, ranging in price from ten bucks to hundreds of dollars. the most expensive are those that don't drip and have lots of steam settings. See more information on steam irons.
