- A length of black fabric matching the measurements in Step 2.
- For a lined robe: A length of fabric the same size as your outer fabric. This should be red for Gryffindor house.
- a sewing kit or sewing machine
- scissors [recommended scissors]
- measuring tape
- iron and ironing board
- chalk
- Optional: Gryffindor iron-on patch
