Who couldn't love this outfit? I love it purely for all the puns that could be made while wearing it. Here are some pearls of wisdom on how to create a similar look.
- The Hat: Try to find an old officers hat at a thrift store. Even if you can't get this particular style of hat, a cowboy hat or paperboy hat will work. We aren't looking to replicate this look, just recreate it and have some fun. Use white spray paint to coat the hat, then bedazzle the hat with white beads. If you don't have a bedazzler, use a hot glue gun and faux pearls or white beads.
- The Makeup: I've provided a close-up photo of the makeup, because it really is the main attraction of this costume. Use Spirit Gum (Compare Prices) to stick faux pearls or white beads in varying sizes to your face. The Spirit Gum should hold them in place all evening, barring any excessive sweating on your part. Lips should be hot pink, and don't be shy with the mascara.
- The Hair: If you have platinum blond locks already, just flat iron them into submission. Otherwise, grab a long, platinum blonde wig for cheap (see the wig).
- The Jacket:: Get a white jacket at the thrift store, and try hand-stitching white beads on it here and there. You can also use white puffballs, faux pearls... anything round and white will work.
- Get a Bedazzler. It is vital to many Gaga costumes, and you'll use it for years in other costume ventures, too. Applying the white bits will come easier with a Bedazzler, and you can add a pop of rhinestones or colored jewels to the jacket.
- The Bikini: First of all, your confidence is impressive. Wearing a two piece costume like this takes some guts. Hey, at least it's easy to make. Use a Bedazzler to add white studs all over a white bra and white panties.
- Body Pearls: Again, use Spirit Gum to litter your legs, stomach and chest with pearls. You can also use a opalescent lotion or spray-on glitter to add a little shine.
- The Shoes: Any white dress shoes or boots will work to complete this outfit. Don't sweat this detail unless you are bent on perfection, here. No one is going to notice a slight in the shoes when you're covered in pearls.
