The Bottom Line
These circle lenses increase the size of your eye, but blend so well with your natural color that it will be hard for anyone to doubt they could be your real, freakishly large eyes. This subtle mix makes them not only good for anime costuming, but worthy of double-takes at the grocery store.
Pros
- Gradual print blends very well with your natural color.
- 14.5" diameter and dark limbal ring makes eyes seem larger.
- Very comfortable, well into the night.

Guide Review - Circle Lens Review: Seeshell Cosmo
For lots of anime themed costumes, it can be hard to get the eyes just right. Cosplayers have recently been turning to circle lenses in order to get the large, anime-like eyes that their characters portray in mange and anime entertainment. Even Lady Gaga fans have been emulating her video persona and trying on circle lenses. I tried out the Seeshell Cosmo lens to see if it was up to my own superhero expectations.
-
Comfort: These were very comfortable on my eyes, to the point where they were even hard to feel. After a few hours, there was a slight dull pain when my eyes started to get tired. I think these could last you into the night, especially if you are used to wearing contacts.
- Color: I worked with the green contact lens, because I wanted to see if it would blend with my natural eye color (Photo: Natural eye color). It blended wonderfully, it was actually hard to tell where my green stopped and the lens began.
- Design: This lens has no coloring near the middle, meaning that your natural color will show through around your pupil when your pupil is not dilated. The print on the lens is very well blended with greens and blacks, then the very dark limbal ring around the edge.

The color gradually disappears toward the middle to offer a very good blend.
- Realism: Very good. Even with the flash on my camera, they still looked believable up close. Of course, the large 14.5mm size and limbal ring will give them away, especially if someone is 'in the know' about circle lenses.
Outdoor lighting produced great results, too.

- Costume suggestions: These are wonderful for any anime, manga or comic book character costume. I would take my green lenses with me to do Poison Ivy, Sailor Jupiter, Lady Gaga or really any imaginative character that requires big, green peepers.
Contact lenses were not provided by the manufacturer. They were purchased at full price for review.
