Vintage Style Dilemmas
Girls are always eager to get their hands on vintage style. At the local Goodwill, my sister had found a vintage skirt that would have been a steal at $3.50. It was also three sizes too big. She walked away empty handed.
There is buried treasure waiting to be discovered at your local thrift store, but it may take more than the usual digging to get a perfect fit. Get what you like and alter it to fit. Your potential for style is multiplied if you know how to adjust a hem or waistline. This is especially important when you’re looking for vintage clothing, because these are often one-of-a-kind pieces that you won’t find anywhere else.
In the thrift store dressing room, ask yourself what could be done to that outfit to make it fit. My sister will never see her skirt again, but it’s not too late for you, if you know how to alter clothing.
