Our kids were unexpectedly occupied for the weekend, so Mr. T (that's the husband) whisked me off for a quiet day in the little village next door. Our suburb was forged from farmland in the 50's, so there aren't a lot of sidewalks to be had. We've got to put ourselves in the car and visit another area to really get the Norman Rockwell kind of Americana that calls for strolling through a downtown district.
Yellow Springs is a beautiful town that has nurtured its art community to the point of bursting. There are a slew of galleries, two comic book stores, lots of yummy eateries, and the light posts have all been adequately yarn bombed. We stopped by Urban Handmade, a spot that sells goods from local artists. This includes fashionable accessories like Mr. Magoo here... replete with cascading beads.
I messaged the owner of Urban Handmade to see if we can't track down the artisan behind Magoo. Hopefully I'll have an interview up here one day, or at least a feature of his/her other work. If not, we'll just simply have to enjoy this weird Magoo pin together. You can only find these fun, unique, pieces at local shops like Urban Handmade. Trust me... no one else on Earth has a pin like this one. Do you have a favorite local boutique that specializes in handmade goods?
