Okay, now that I'm done with the wrapping and shopping, the holidays actually seem like a good idea again. This is the wintery time when I like to hop online with a hot cup of coffee and start to shop once more...for ME, ha! Hey, I'm a Santa, so kicking back before the big day is a must, lest I take out some reindeer road rage next Wednesday.
This morning I found this gorgeous piece by Etsy user 'FashionTouch' and learned what a 'scarflette' is. Entitled 'Blue Tail Scarflette', this piece is inspired by the beautiful blues found alongside Lake Erie. I love the concept of a scarflette. It reminds me of spats, but for your neck. Okay maybe that doesn't sound as appealing as I had intended. The scarflette has a Victorian/Edwardian look that I'm very glad to see in practice. It also sells for the very Victorian price of 20 bucks. This is cheap for handmade goods, people, because a factory made scarf at Target runs me about $15.
I have a huge scarf collection and I love to tie them in all sorts of different ways, use them as belts and hang them from curtains. A scarflette looks to me like the next step in advanced scarf wearing. the best part? FashionTouch will make you a custom scarflette out of whatever color yarn you want.
