Upcycled T-Shirts for Christmas

I was making a skirt out of a Batman t-shirt last night and nearly aborted the project. I hated the t-shirt to the point of savoring each cut. I thought about digging into my t-shirt stash when I realized that the t-shirt I was using was just perfect for the person I was giving it to. I might have hated it, but my sister would love the thing. When you are upcycling t-shirts to give as gifts, be sure to pick a t-shirt that the receiver loves, not you.

For example, I'd much rather be making my sister a Big Lebowski t-shirt tote bag than a Saved By the Bell t-shirt scarf, but hey, that's what she likes. She may never wear a Saved by the Bell t-shirt, but as a scarf it is endlessly funny and kitschy.
