Decoupage a Scrapbook Case

Tuesday October 28, 2008

Last year, I went on a trip to Kentucky with my sisters to have a peek at our relatives that hail from the hills. Along the freeway through the state, there are numerous weathered billboards that beckon to visitors with promises of dinosaur skulls and assorted two-headed fetuses. My sister is such a big fan of these roadside attractions, and at each rest stop we picked up brochures for the tourist traps.

I saved these until my sister's birthday rolled around last week. I found a metal filing box for fifty cents at the local Goodwill, and bought a bottle of Mod Podge at Wal-Mart. With these materials, I was able to create a meaningful keepsake box for my sister that had all her favorite and yet-to-visit tourist traps plastered all over it, along with her name in cut letters.

I took photos along the way so that you can make your own decoupage case for yourself, or as the perfect gift.
