Turn a Prom Dress into a Fairy Costume

Prom and bridesmaid dresses are so freakin hideous that they are prime pickings for a surgical DIY project. Even if you don't have one, they are a dime a dozen at the thrift store, ready for slaughter. Err, transformation, that is.

I started brainstorming and came up with a few ideas about cutting the dress skirt and using the extra layers to make a new tutu for the fairy costume. This can be accomplished in a matter of minutes with a few stitches and some ribbon for drawstring. I just love fairy costumes because the theme of your fairy can be anything from a fire fairy to a sweet autumn fairy.
