What I'm Wearing Right Now: The Breakfast Bag

Wednesday July 9, 2008
Breakfast bag Right now, I'm strutting my wry sense of humor with this picnic tote that has a funny face on the front made up of bacon and eggs. It is so off-the-wall that I get lots of comments on it. I bought it at Target for $10.00, but realized when I got home that I could have easily made it myself.

Avoid the $10.00 price tag that I paid and get this bag for free. I've made bacon & egg templates for you to print and use for appliqué patches. This tote is perfect for summer, and I'll show you how to make the whole thing in a matter of minutes.

I love it! I love both cartoon characters and bacon and eggs. The face sort of reminds me of the fire demon in “Howl”s Moving Castle”.

I love this bag. The eggs and bacon look easy to appliqué. I think that if I use a thick needle, I can do the vinyl like you said is on the bag.

I found checkered tote bags like that at WalMart. Instead of making the tote, I would just put the patches on the checkered bag that I have.

I think that a dark blue bag would look funky. What about green eggs and ham? Seems like a ham patch wouldn’t be hard to make!

Very cute. Another reason for me to visit Target today.
Seriously…I think my daughter could do this…it would be a good beginning sewer’s project. Thanks!

Haha i like the green eggs and ham idea :)
The truth is this bag doesn’t really do it for me, but then i’m not a bacon and eggs person. It is a *very* creative though! I’ve made about 50 bags so far. My goal is one hundred. I’m happy for new ideas. I’d really like to see how you make this in muniutes it usually takes me an hour. But then each bag is unique.

I love this bag! Not only does it make me hungry, but it inspires me to sew as well, and let me tell you, that’s not something I’m very good at at all! Fab!
